Sewer Scope Inspection • Portland Metro
Know what's hiding beneath the home before you buy.
A sewer scope inspection uses a high-definition camera to inspect the home's main sewer line for root intrusion, cracks, offsets, bellies, corrosion, and blockages. Hidden sewer defects can lead to repairs costing thousands of dollars, making a sewer scope one of the most valuable inspections you can add before closing.
Why Get a Sewer Scope?
A standard home inspection cannot see inside the sewer line.
The underground sewer line is one of the most expensive systems to repair. Our sewer camera allows us to inspect the pipe from the home's cleanout toward the city connection to identify hidden defects before they become your responsibility.
Root Intrusion
Tree roots commonly enter older sewer pipes through small openings, eventually causing slow drains, backups, and expensive repairs.
Cracked Pipes
Cracks, separated joints, broken clay pipe, and deteriorated materials can allow leaks and eventually require replacement.
Offsets & Bellies
Sections of pipe that have shifted or settled can trap waste and create recurring drainage problems.
Blockages
Grease buildup, debris, wipes, and foreign objects can restrict flow and hide larger issues deeper in the line.
Pipe Corrosion
Older cast iron and metal piping may deteriorate from the inside, reducing flow and increasing the likelihood of failure.
Peace of Mind
Knowing the condition of the sewer line before purchasing a home can help avoid unexpected repair costs after closing.
